This pack covers the Seaton branch diagram in the Summer of 1961.
Specifically the early shift of diagram 606, from about 7am to lunchtime.

This pack has been created to resemble the film taken at Seaton junction for the BBC program “Railway Roundabout” in 1961, locomotives and stock match the film where possible.

Dorchester T9 Diagram 1952 Scenario Pack

This pack contains 6 scenarios for the Dorset Coast ​route.
Description:
This pack covers Dorchester’s T9 diagram circa 1952. At this time Dorchester MPD still sent out one of its own T9s for its most important train: The 1550 Weymouth-Waterloo. Sometimes loaded to six coaches it proved too much for these engines in the end and they were replaced by Lord Nelsons in 1954.

Today an inspector has come to Dorchester and wishes to ride with you on this train, to understand how these elderly engines have been coping, can you prove to him that they are still up to the task?

  • Part I - Run LE down to Weymouth and turn your engine for the first train
  • Part II - Take the 1550 ex-Weymouth as far as Bournemouth Central
  • Part III - Run onto Bournemouth MPD and service your engine
  • Part IV - Come off Bournemouth MPD and collect your return train
  • Part V - Take the 1912 ex-Bournemouth all the way down to Weymouth
  • Part VI - Run LE back up to Dorchester to end the day’s work

N.B. There is a temporary speed restriction in place at Holes Bay Junction,
Since Sunday track maintenance work has overrun into Monday.

Description:
This pack contains 3 scenarios for the Dorset Coast route.

Through services between Waterloo and Swanage were a prevalent part of the branch's operations throughout British Railways' tenure. The five sheduled 'Summer Saturday' trains were dieselised in the summer of 1963, however many weekday excursions were also run, and often saw steam haulage. On Monday the 18th of May 1964, Salisbury allocated 'Spam Can' No.34015 'Exmouth' took a 10 coach excursion between Waterloo and Swanage, this included two light engine moves to and from Bournemouth for serviceing in the afternoon.

​Although local goods traffic on the Swanage branch dwindled in the early 60s, there were still frequent clay trains serving Furzebrook works. These trains were often handled by one of the branch tank engines, but towards the end of steam on the Southern Region Bournemouth-allocated Bulleid Pacifics were used on this train.
